A quick overview of what you’ll find on this site:

• Otoko is a collaborative project to make thermal contraception accessible and shared. The approach is resolutely anti-sexist, low-tech and open-source.
• You can get started with a collective workshop or a one-on-one session at a pay-what-you-can price. In both formats, you’ll be able to try the rings and find all the tools you need to begin.
• The thermal method lets you reach contraception in around 3 months.
• The principle is simple: use your own body heat, through testicular lifting for 15 hours a day, to pause spermatogenesis.
• This method is effective, reversible, and easy to implement. More than 86% of users report being satisfied with it (Guidarelli 2023, N=970).
• Testicular lifting is achieved using a device that holds the base of the penis without squeezing. Most commonly a ring, a jockstrap, or adapted underwear.
• Medical follow-up is essential. If you’re looking for a health professional to support you, or a collective to craft your own ring, have a look here.
