✨ Welcome to Otoko’s world ! ✨
🌈 Glad to have you here. I’m Sam !
Based in Paris, I created Otoko in 2021. I organise workshops where you can learn how to use thermal contraception, aka, a simple way of managing your fertility using colorful silicone rings. 🍒

- Otoko is a collaborative project aimed at making thermal contraception accessible and shared.
- The approach is resolutely anti-sexist, low-tech, and open-source.
- The thermal method allows for contraception in about 3 months.
- The principle is to use body temperature, through testicular lifting for 15 hours a day, to halt spermatogenesis.
- This method is effective, reversible, and easy to implement.
- Testicular lifting is achieved using a device that holds the base of the penis without squeezing. Most commonly, a ring, jockstrap, or adapted underwear is used.
- Medical monitoring and consistency are essential for the thermal method. You'll find everything you need here to learn, make a ring or jockstrap, and start contraception with guidance. Regardless of the method you choose, this site allows you to discover other media and resources on the subject, to cross-reference information and become an expert in your own contraception.
- Start HERE for information. This is an essential step to properly use the method. Then follow the step-by-step guide for contraception!
- Various scientific sources on the subject are available on the site. Please do cross the sources.
- The "testis" survey by Manon Guidarelli, from January 2023, provided the most up-to-date statistics on the method's use, effectiveness, and risks. I highly recommend reading it.
- If you live in Paris, I offer weekly workshops at a pay-what-you-can price to make your own rings or underwear. You can find the dates and register here!
- If you can't attend the workshops, you can directly visit my workshop at 4 rue Saint Martin in Paris for information.
- If you're looking for a health professional to support you, or a collective to make your underwear/ring, look here!
- Warning: ⚠️ To date, there is no certified contraceptive device for testicular contraception. The handmade tools mentioned here are experimental; their effectiveness and safety have not been proven. They have no contraceptive effect on their own. Jockstraps should be considered as underwear and rings as simple penis rings, adapted for testicular lifting for daily wear. They are no different from commercially available cock rings, except for size and appearance. Those who wish can experiment with the thermal method through testicular lifting, aware of the associated risks and with medical monitoring. The information on this site is primarily based on studies conducted by Dr. Mieusset. ⚠️
